[It's late, he can't sleep, and what are good decisions? Tetsuo stares up at the ceiling, just like he's been doing for the past..however long it's been, unasked questions keeping his mind racing. He can't hear Kaneda snoring, so maybe...
It's late enough that he risks it. While it's not something he's sure he wants answered, he needs to know at least this much. Kaneda isn't going to tell him much, and Tetsuo can't even make him. The one time he got into his head... any of this was the farthest thing on his mind at the time.]
[Is it stupid that Jaime's only met the guy who's like Ken's other big brother in his secret identity?
Well, yeah. It is. Oh well.]
Just wanted to say thank you for helping deal with all that Pan stuff. A lot of people would have been hurt or worse if you guys didn't help get rid of the forest when you did.
I hope you and Tetsuo and everyone else have a chance to rest and recover from all that now. I sent something to say thanks, so share it with the others if you want.
[And on his doorstep (because when Jaime says sent, he actually means dropped off himself because he doesn't have the money to courier something over, and he'd already flown over to California so he could get it at a night market for cheap, Kaneda will find a little basket of cheap Japanese snacks that they'll probably plow through in about a day.
[things have settled down just enough that Hazel's been able to think without getting herself worked up; she's squared away with Tetsuo, come to accept that Josuke probably remembered everything that happened...and was now realizing the ramifications of her participation in taking Pan down.
it had been so, so stupid. she was replaceable - anyone could have taken her spot and the end result would have been the same. why had she gone and exposed herself like that? now she had to do damage control that she wasn't even certain would work. dumbass.]
[Kaneda may be sleeping in Tetsuo's room lately, but the boy's got to hang out with his dog sometime, right? Whenever he does so in his own room, Maya tends to be near, sitting on the bed or floor and watching them play, snagging a picture on her phone every once in a while.
Tonight's much the same, but this time Maya's not paying much attention to the boy and his dog. Rather, she's set up on the bed with some paper in her lap, doodling to herself and humming something-- not just any idle tune, but one she seems to know by heart.
In truth, her sister's been on her mind a lot more recently. She and Phoenix both. Since the mind dive with Tetsuo, since she revealed that memory to Tetsuo, the memory's played itself over and over in her mind. She hasn't brought it up, of course-- how could she be so rude as to admit she's feeling lonely or missing people when all of Nonah 05 is being so welcoming?
Instead, she just scribbles in a notebook, humming to herself while she watches her new dear friend play with his dog.]
Listen. The imPorts aren't in space. Russia's a big country, but I've got confirmation that they aren't in a lot of areas or around the coast. We're still looking. But first, I've gotta run by something real important with you.
[Kaneda, like basically everybody else in N5, will find himself face-to-face with a flying pig at some point during the day. The pig drops off a card for him! Along with a bunch of random American candy and a note: Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks for working so hard to keep everybody safe. I'm glad you're here!]
Tetsuo stalks up to Kaneda with a look of sheer determination sometime late morning, pretty clearly on some sort of mission. If the guy can afford a bike...]
[At some point, the Tetsuo from Kaneda's time must have gotten access to Kaneda's glove compartment. The next time Kaneda roots around in there - maybe for tools, or a map, or some stray bits of odds and end keepsakes, there's something that he won't remember.
A carefully folded piece of paper, with surprisingly legible handwriting for Tetsuo.
Unfolded, it's a letter. It's been written, rewritten, and rewritten again in pencil, hastily erased at points. It's not going to win any prizes for composition, or legibility, and not remotely for coherency, but it's quite possibly the most sincerely honest, and heartfelt thing that Tetsuo has ever done... and possibly will ever say.]
[It was cloudy, almost about to rain, when Ken looked out the window this morning while waiting for Dipper. They were going to be indoors and out of the state, though, so he wasn't so worried. Now, as Ken comes back in the afternoon -- alone -- it's pouring buckets and thundering, and Ken is soaked.
Dipper never came to pick him up. His communicator was disconnected.
Ken's different from Minato. Minato shuts off completely from his emotions when he's about to get upset, but Ken feels his strongly. Right now, he's gone slightly numb from all the feelings he's experiencing right now, so he finds himself oddly clear-headed once he arrives at the house. Water drips from his bangs, trickles down his face, weighs down his clothes, puddling on the concrete below him as he stands there with the door open.
It's funny how mundane thoughts hit in moments like this. Like how he shouldn't get the floor wet; it'll damage it.]
