[Wow, more concern for the cat than the kid. Except since he knows how durable the kid is, he's not worried. Dalish just flicks her ears.]

New to me too--this is an American thing.

I mean... relationships. Dating. It's not really A Thing.

Guy owns a bookstore back home. He doesn't strike me as a TV kind of guy.
