[It doesn't matter, he tells himself. It's just a toy, he reminds himself.]

[The mystery object yanks itself out of Kaneda's reach before Tetsuo realizes he's reacted.]

[And just like that, the plushie is out of his hands. In fact, he makes a few grabbing motions to the air as if to make sure. Nope, definitely not in his hands.]

[Tetsuo lets go the second after. The whalicorn sails through the air and hits the opposite wall, harmlessly bouncing to the floor.]

You heard me! Go ahead- waste your time on nothing.

But if it IS anything, you're gonna tell me!

[Someone should teach these two how to effectively use search engines sometime]

[Kaneda knows of the Google--it's a GPS as far as he's concerned.]

[Oh right. He has some unicorns to get rid of, doesn't he?]

What, those?

[He smiles, swinging his legs off the bed and getting up. The box is less than satisfactory for carrying unicorns in, but he'll definitely...try... There's a little bit left that's pick-up-able, and he loads as many of the stuffed creatures in that he can. Hoisting it up onto one of his shoulders, he gives Tetsuo that trademark smirk...

And a salute.]

[The few stuffed unicorns he missed take no time in helpfully hurling themselves at Kaneda, largely ending up in the hallway. He's not taking responsibility for their existence a second longer.

The second Kaneda's out, the door's going to slam shut. Then open to let Tetsuo toss the unicorn that bounced off Kaneda and back into his room out into the hallway. And slam shut one last time.]
